How Therapy works
The process of counselling and counselling training has equipped me with valuable self awareness and a deeper understanding of my core values.
This experience enables me to better support others, as I can understand and relate personally to all the steps and emotions involved.
This process can involve delving into the past, present and future. There is no right or wrong way to approach counselling so the pressure is off. You do you, what ever that looks like.
You are in the driving seat and in control of where you go - taking the first step is the hardest, but you won't be alone. Together we can explore any feelings, emotions, concerns or memories that come up for you along the way.
The Journey
The power of empathy and understanding is truly transformative. By embracing these qualities, we can connect more deeply with others and create meaningful relationships.
Empathy allows us to see the world through different perspectives, fostering compassion and support. The therapeutic relationship is a collaborative process between both therapist and client. You can expect to receive dedicated time and space where you are at the heart of what matters.
You will feel supported, heard and listened to without the fear of judgement. This is a confidential and safe space to explore the things that might be weighing on your mind.
You will be treated with empathy and understanding throughout the process.
Trusting the process
Counselling offers a supportive platform for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. This can lead to you initiating positive changes through identifying personal strengths and resilience. It can help with gaining clarity and developing effective coping strategies as well as a better understanding of yourself.
Counselling can bring up emotions that have been buried deep down over time but were never spoken about. This is the space to make sense of it all. Life events and experiences come in all shapes and sizes, which can be overwhelming.
Counselling is a journey which may take you down different paths, but you'll always remain in the driving seat deciding where you go and how fast.
Having trust in the process will enable you to reach your goal or outcomes from therapy.
